Tiger Haven

Tiger Haven is a Sanctuary and Rescue facility for big cats, much like an animal shelter for dogs and house cats. Tiger Haven is a “no kill” shelter for big cats unlike most but not all domestic animal shelters. Tiger Haven has been rescuing Big Cats for 28 years, beginning in September of 1991.

Jane Goodall Institute

The Jane Goodall Institute emphasizes the strength of the individual. They believe that every single one of us has the power to do their bit to help the environment.

She focuses on local people taking charge of projects in their local area, encouraging people to do good within that community. This has had great success in parts of Africa, with the locals championing conservation efforts and helping to protect the chimpanzees that they share their home with.

Jane has done extensive research into the habitat and behaviors of chimpanzees, discovering things about these wonderful creatures that was before unknown to science. Through this work, she has uncovered just how complex the lives of one of our closest relatives really is, and how like us they can be at times. She is dedicated to saving their habitat and rebuilding their decreasing numbers, starting with education.

This includes giving talks around the world about the wonderful social behaviors she has seen in chimpanzees, as well as the damage we have done to their home. Poachers are still a big danger to these caring animals, with babies taken from their dead mothers to be sold on as pets. Through education, Jane hopes to put an end to this practice.

The Animal Defense Fund

The Animal Defense Fund’s mission is to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. The Animal Legal Defense Fund accomplishes this mission by filing high-impact lawsuits to protect animals from harm, providing free legal assistance and training to prosecutors to assure that animal abusers are punished for their crimes, supporting tough animal protection legislation and fighting legislation harmful to animals, and providing resources and opportunities to law students and professionals to advance the emerging field of animal law.

Alley Cat Allies

Alley Cat Allies is the global engine of change for cats. We protect and improve cats’ lives through our innovative, cutting-edge programs. We are seen around the world as a champion for the humane treatment of all cats.

We work toward a world where every cat is valued and protected and every community and shelter have policies and programs to save their lives.

What is Alley Cat Allies?

When it comes to cat advocacy, Alley Cat Allies is working in communities to champion low-cost spay and neuter policies and programs, as well as lifesaving Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and Shelter-Neuter-Return (SNR). Once viewed as radical new concepts, these humane cat protocols are now mainstream. But we still have a lot of work to do to ensure policies and programs in every community serve the best interests of cats.

We are a resource for tens of thousands of dedicated cat caregivers, advocates, nonprofit groups, and volunteers driving change and accelerating protection for millions of cats worldwide.

We work toward a world where every cat is valued and protected and every community and shelter have policies and programs to save their lives.

Endangered Species Coalition

Why do we exist?

The Endangered Species Coalition’s mission is to stop the human-caused extinction of our nation’s at-risk species, to protect and restore their habitats, and to guide these fragile populations along the road to recovery.

What do we do?

We work to safeguard and strengthen the Endangered Species Act, a law that enables every citizen to act on behalf of threatened and endangered wildlife – animals, fish, plants, and insects – and the wild places they call home.

How do we reach our goals?

We use grassroots mobilization, education, and targeted campaigns to enable every American to participate in actions that impact the democratic political process. Do you want to join us?

Who are we?

We are a national network of conservation, scientific, education, religious, sporting, outdoor recreation, business and community organizations – and more than 150,000 individual activists and supporters – all dedicated to protecting our nation’s disappearing wildlife and last remaining wild places.

Noah’s Ark

Provides a home for injured, abused, and orphaned animals. We provide awareness through our rehab/education programs that emphasize all living things have value no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. When we as a society can recognize this fact, we will begin to win the battles for conservation and preservation. We provide unconditional love and care for animals who have special needs in their lives whether mental, physical, or emotional.
